Simone Pellegrini

Simone Pellegrini was born in Ancona, Italy in 1972, and now lives and works from his studio in Bologna. His career as an artist began en 1996, during his formative years in Urbino. Since 2003, he has held more than forty solo exhibitions. In the summer of 2023, an anthological exhibition dedicated to him is inaugurating in Lugano by MUSEC – Museo delle Culture.

Simone Pellegrini’s works have been exhibited widely, notetably at Galerie Christian Berst, Paris, and more recently at Gugging Gallery in Austria. He has been featured in Raw Vision Magazine and many European art periodicals. His art can be found in numerous public and museum collections.

He has created for the French publishing house Fata Morgana the artist’s book Dans la chambre du silence.

All works are unique monoprints on a parchment-like paper, which are hand-coloured with charcoal by the artist himself and distressed with oil on paper to create a sense of aging. The large sheets often have a symmetrical structure and convey the impression of very old codices with a distinct alchemistic, mythological, esoteric content.
