“The Raw Vision 126 issue features the extraordinary work of Shane Drinkwater, whose intricate compositions resemble celestial charts, ancient maps and microscopic worlds.
Using vintage dress-making patterns as his surface, Drinkwater builds complex fields of numbers, arrows, circles and crosses. The works feel encoded with meaning yet remain deliberately open, inviting viewers to respond intuitively rather than decipher a fixed narrative.
Rooted in dyslexia, synesthesia and a lifelong fascination with symbols and pilgrimage routes, Drinkwater’s art explores mark- making as a sensory language that speaks beyond words.”
